Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are your collies big or the small
type?
A: Our collies are rough coated standard sized collie dogs;
typically the adults will weigh 50-70 pounds when they reach
maturity. The "small collies" sometimes called "miniature"
collies are known as "Shetland Sheep Dogs" or Shelties.
Shelties differ from our dogs in both size and temperament.
Q: What is the price of your puppies?
A: $500 per puppy
Q: Do you ship and sell your puppies out
of state?
A: We do not like to send our puppies to persons we have not met or who have
not visited our farm. Primarily we sell our puppies in the
state of Virginia or in neighboring states.
Q: Do you sell your puppies to retail
pet shops?
A: Our practice has been to sell all of our puppies to individuals
whom we have met. We are concerned that our puppies find good
homes and that their prospective owner is a good match for our
puppies.
Q: I live in a small apartment and do
not have a yard. Assuming that I take my collie out for a walk
once a day, will I have a good experience as a collie owner?
A: Collies are large dogs and need room to run and explore.
Keeping your collie in a small apartment room with an exercise
routine of once a day is inadequate and will result in a bad
situation, which both you and your dog will regret. An adult
collie even if kept inside much of the time needs to have access to
out-of-doors for bowel and urine deposits which can not be limited
to once a day episodes.
Q: Where can I find more information
about collies?
A: Check our Information Links page for additional information about
registration (AKC site) or about collies in general.
